WEATHER NEWS

A rather potent system cutting across the central United States and into the Great Lakes will bring a couple of days of wild weather for many during the middle of the week.

This area of low pressure will resemble more of a midautumn storm rather than a late summer storm in terms of its strength and characteristics.

Severe thunderstorms will erupt ahead of the system, feeding off a warm and juicy air mass. Meanwhile, a blast of chilly air will invade areas in the wake of this storm, bringing the threat of frost and snow to some.

A common Thai greeting is to place your hands together in a prayer like position. In addition to greeting and saying goodbye, the wai is also always used when either presenting or receiving a gift. The wai is, amongst other things, a mark of respect for position and age. For Thais, different levels of the closed hands can show different degrees of respect.

Visited W Resort at Koh Samui for Sunday brunch. Gorgeous setting with beautiful views, spectacular food and lovely staff. Loved the little breaky tapas that was brought around to the tables! Having been to W in Bali we had high hopes and were not disappointed. A Samui Sunday Morning Must!

As fans of W Hotels (especially the one in Bali) our obvious choice in koh samui was the W Retreat Koh Samui. But fast it became obvious that this W Hotel was not matching the standard we are accustomed from other W Hotels (Bali, Singapore, Bangkok), not the one W Hotels puts on itself and not the one you would...
